VISCompass enables visually impaired sailors, in partnership with a sighted skipper, to helm a boat by receiving steering instructions as audio signals. It has been developed by Sporting Activities for the Disabled and extensively tested for use in dinghies, yachts and motorboats. VISCompass does not enable visually impaired sailors to sail solo, it is only to be used with the assistance of a sighted skipper.
